Frame Grain & Seeds has been family-owned and operated for over 70 years, with a legacy built on dedication, innovation, and a commitment to supporting local farmers.
It all began in 1951, when Jim and Alma Frame started the business with a mobile seed cleaner, offering on-farm seed cleaning services. After a few years, Jim parked the cleaner on Balmoral Street in Culverden, where it still operates today.
In the late 1970s, Jim’s son Bob and his wife Bernadette returned from high-country farming to take over the business. They expanded the operation, adding seed sales to complement the cleaning service.
By 2008, the next generation stepped in — Ben and Hayley Frame returned to help run the business and officially took ownership in 2011. They introduced calf meal production to support the region’s growing dairy industry, further expanding the business’s offerings.
In 2017, Ben and Hayley partnered with Simon and Jamiee Thorne. With Simon’s extensive agronomy expertise, Frame Grain & Seeds began offering on-farm advisory services, strengthening the support provided to local farmers.
Today, Frame Grain & Seeds continues to evolve, blending decades of experience with forward-thinking solutions to serve the next generation of farmers — all while staying true to the values that started it all.
